Breakaway NFP

Brief

The brief for this project is to create a website that was user friendly and fun for families living with a disability that wanted to be part of the breakaway programmes or book their facilities to support their cause.

The website needed to deliver an online booking system, a fun interactive experience, donation conversion pages for both public and corporate, and an event manager to manage local events held by the local community.

Solution

WordPress was recommended due to the functionality available with affordable plug-ins for both accommodations booking and event management.

In keeping with the support of children and their families, a template was chosen with high use of animated images as well as and fun, interactive interface

Elementor was chosen, making the build faster economic. This also gave compatibility with many third-party features.

Design

The design was based on a preschool template that utilises vector animations and video content, emphasising the fun and interaction

The idea behind these designs was to reflect how parents see their children as superheroes.

Functionality

This website has three main functions

  • To show the programmes available run by the breakaway organisation
  • Facilitate fundraising to support programmes both with local community events and corporate sponsorship
  • Facilitate online booking of accommodation and function rooms
  • The registration portal for volunteers, clients and donorsThe following plug-ins were used to access this functionality

Moto Press Reservations

We used a plug-in created for hotel reservations and tailored it to manage the accommodation for the residential programs. This is also used to manage the bookings for the conference rooms site hire.

This plug-in also gives breakaway the capacity of hiring out access accommodation to third party booking sites like Airbnb

Reviews and Social

The website also utilises direct streams to Facebook Post posts and Google Reviews including Google reviews
